Today I’m sharing some white maxi skirt outfit ideas.
This post was inspired by the Reformation Lucy skirt which I purchased a couple of months ago. I actually bought it for an event. We didn’t end up going to the event, but I made the silly mistake of playing dress up with it in my closet anyway. Once I realized how many outfit options there were for this skirt, I couldn’t part with it.
It seems like we as a society have, for the most part, moved the “no white after labor day” rule–finally, something we can all agree on. Personally, I am more than excited to wear this white maxi skirt through the fall (and winter, because: San Diego). If you’re skeptical on this, keep an open mind and read on!
For now, I’ll stick with autumn outfits but will likely circle back to this post in the spring to add some warm weather looks too. I foresee this skirt becoming a mainstay of my wardrobe year round.
In today’s post, I am going to share 10 white maxi skirt ideas for fall. Then, I’ll share a mini review of the Reformation Lucy skirt and a roundup of lookalikes at various price points.

ToggleThe sign of a good purchase, in my opinion, is when you do not need to make any additional purchases to create an outfit. The sign of an AMAZING purchase is when you can create several outfits with the item using what you already have.
Every single one of the items I paired with the white maxi skirt for this post are closet staples for me. And this isn’t anything groundbreaking either. You likely have many of these in your wardrobe already too.
I am in *love* with the Reformation Lucy skirt for a few different reasons. For starters, it is unbelievably comfortable. The waist band is minimal/nonexistent, so it doesn’t dig into my waist when I sit in the car or at dinner. The “cotton stretch” material is made from 98% Organic Cotton and 2% Spandex. Perhaps most importantly: this skirt is not see through.
I love the chic A-line and subtle pleats in the front. To me, the sleek simplicity of this skirt is what makes it so versatile and wearable year round.
You can purchase the Lucy skirt on Reformation’s website or at Anthropologie.
For the most part, I think Reformation’s sizing is pretty consistent, and the Lucy skirt runs true to size. If it’s helpful, I am a Medium/6/27 in most brands, and I wear the same in all of the Reformation items I have. I wear a 6 in the Lucy skirt.
One thing I’ll say about this skirt: it’s long. I am 5’9″ and you can see in the photos that the skirt is the perfect length on me which almost never happens, lol. If you are worried about length, fortunately, the skirt does come in petite sizing as well (linked here).
