Today, I’m sharing a list of gift ideas for women. In this guide, I’m focusing mostly on clothing and beauty items. In a few days, I’ll share a list of more homey/hostessy gift ideas.
This is, when it comes down to it, a list of own favorite things as well as some things on my wishlist. These are so much fun for me to put together, and I am hoping it’s helpful!!
I divided this guide into three sections: under $75/stocking stuffers, $100-200, and $200+.
Without further ado, here are some holiday gift ideas for women.
Table of Contents
ToggleWe all know someone who is constantly rummaging in their purse for a credit card or ID. And up until a few months ago, that someone was me. I got this little leather card holder from Sézane in Paris this summer, and I’m not quite sure how I survived before? This is a great size. It holds several cards and a small wad of cash and is easy to transfer between my belt bag and purse. I’m partial to any of the “croco” colors.
I don’t know a woman alive who wouldn’t appreciate this Osea Body Oil + Body Butter Duo. These two hydration heroes have transformed my skin. (If you’re shopping Osea this week, they are doing a major gift-with-purchase event. See details here. And use my code RUTHZNUSS10 for an extra 10% off the sale!).
I asked for one of these Anine Bing baseball caps for my Mother’s Day present last year and ended up wearing it many, many times per week this summer and fall. Tyler told me it’s my best-fitting hat, LOL.
Is a stocking complete without a pair of Barefoot Dreams socks? A no-fail choice for coworkers or a “favorite things” party. Would pair perfectly with a Laneige Lip Mask.
A few more tiny beauty surprises: Slip hair ties, Summer Friday lip balm, and this Bobbi Brown Eye Shadow Stick Duo.
I love my clear cosmetic case from CALPAK. I have it in the small size, and it holds a ton. It’s also compliant for carryon travel in the EU. This case is on sale for $60 as part of CALPAK’s Black Friday event this week.
These $49 clog slippers from Quince are an amazing Ugg knockoff. I have been wearing mine constantly since I got them a few weeks ago.
Speaking of Quince, they have some great fine jewelry options. I am loving these gold vermeil “Modern U” hoops and these 14k gold “Everyday” hoops.
These little stacking bracelets from Anthro are one of my favorite gifts to give. They are simple but come in so many fun colors. These are 30% off right now at Anthro!
And I love these initial bracelets from Gorjana.
I use the Skinny Confidential Ice Roller every single morning. It sounds crazy, but I can’t wake up without it. This one is pricier than what you’ll find on Amazon, but it rolls without squeaking and stays way colder way longer than others I’ve tried. I’ve also had mine for almost two years which is about 4x as long as any of the flimsy ones I’ve had in the past. (Also available at Nordstrom and Amazon). The Skinny Confidential Ice Roller is 20% off right now.
I dream of being a woman with nice pajamas. I have tried these Skims ribbed pajamas on a few times in the store, and they are so luxurious. The material is unbelievably soft but somehow not too thin or clingy. I LOVE the new Cypress color.
In my mind, anything from Sézane’s knitwear collection makes the perfect gift. Everything is unique and wellmade and the prices are just over the line for a woman to buy for herself on a willy-nilly Tuesday if you know what I mean. There are a million options, but here are my rapid fire picks: the Léontine Jumper in Ecru/Navy (I own this one and wear it all the time), the Gaspard in Camel, Sage, the Othello in Multicolored, or the Beryl in Ecru.
Another sweater worth mentioning is the Oversized Boyfriend Cashmere Sweater from Quince. It’s SO soft, like a cloud. This is a great, neutral staple sweater that can be worn a million ways. I have been loving mine this year.
There aren’t enough words to describe the perfection of the Pippa Puffer Jacket from Free People. I will shamelessly feature this item on every gift guide because it is just the best. Tyler got me one for Christmas three years ago, and I have gotten SO much use out of it. In fact, I love it so much that I went ahead and bought myself a second color this year too. This puffer is the perfect, lightweight extra layer. It’s boxy, so it fits easily over sweatshirts, but it’s also thin enough to layer under a heavy coat in cold temperatures. The jacket comes in a million gorgeous colors. You can’t go wrong. I have it in black and now the Viridian green color as well. A few of my other favorite colors: Poppy Red, Fossil, Bitter Chocolate, and Mid Atlantic.
I will put this Anine Bing oversized sweatshirt on my Christmas list every year until my dying breath if I have to. There is nothing, and I mean nothing, more satisfying than pulling a bougie sweatshirt over a pair of leggings.
And you know what–speaking of leggings–this guide would not be complete without mentioning the Lululemon Align Leggings. Most women are up to speed on these, but frankly if I had five pairs it would still not be enough. These are, in my opinion, a safe purchase for any girl out there. Extra points for the matching tank.
Circling back now to bougie sweatshirts, it’s no secret that I love Sloppy Joe Sweatshirts. Princess Diana sported these with biker shorts, sneakers, and crew socks back in the 90’s, and the brand has made a huge comeback in recent years. I have two and wear one of them almost every day, lol. They have a bunch of the crewneck colors in stock right now, and you can check this page to see which colors of the collar and quarter zips are going to launch this upcoming Black Friday.
It might seem random to include a swimsuit on a Christmas gift guide, but I love YouSwim. Their “crinkle” fabric pieces suit every body type and are so comfortable. I think the safest choice is the Aplomb One Piece. I have two of these and wore them all summer long. Also, I love that all you have to do is throw on a pair of shorts, and you’re in a complete outfit. Every color is beautiful, but I am partial to Juniper, Cosmic, and Plume. This would make a great gift for a woman who has a winter getaway planned? Youswim is currently offering 20% off their entire site!!
We are officially a Hoka Family now. I am now on my third pair and have not had an injury since I started running on them last November (knock on wood!). These are great for running, walking, or just tooling around on a Saturday morning. Nordstrom has a ton of colors in stock right now–my picks are White, Nimbus Cloud, and Sunlit Ocean.
Simple, solid gold jewelry is always a good choice. I love this solid gold chain link bracelet from Mejuri. I gasped when I saw this gemstone + diamond bracelet–how special would this be to start a collection for a mom with each of her baby’s birthstones? (not the topic here but what a FABULOUS “push present” idea). Mejuri is currently offering 20% right now!
I got this “coatigan” from Mango a few years ago, and it’s a major staple in my winter wardrobe. It’s cozy, chic, and goes with EVERYTHING. I’m including it in this year’s guide because Nordstrom carries it now. I feel like it’s always nice to purchase gifts from Nordstrom to make it easier on the recipient to exchange/return as needed. Size down.
I’ve had my eye on this oversized puffer vest from Free People since last year. The color options are endless (if I must choose, it’s True Blue or Greyed Olive for me), and it seems to run really big. I also love this one in Hickory for a more understated silhouette.
The Luka Duffel from CALPAK is a great overnight or gym bag. It’s also small enough to count as a “personal item” on an airplane and fits under the seat. They also have it in a larger “weekender” size. (Full review here).
Last year, Tyler got me this tote bag from Naghedi for Christmas last year, and I love it so much. I use it daily to carry snacks for the girls, my laptop if needed, water bottles, deodorant, etc. I call it my “Mary Poppins Bag.” Also, I have it in the large size (also avail in a few colors at Nordstrom) which is perfect for beach days or if I’m carrying my laptop, but I think the medium would suffice if you are just looking for an everyday “mom tote.” (I found the medium on sale here!).
Tyler and I went to a wedding reception in my friend’s backyard last weekend, and the temperature dropped quite a bit once the sun went down. My friend Ali pulled out this gorgeous cashmere wrap and draped it around her shoulders. She looked SO chic, so I of course demanded details immediately. The wrap is from White + Warren, and they make these beautiful, multifunctional cashmere wraps and scarves. You can wear this as a wrap or use it as a travel blanket or both. I love the Mocha Heather, Sand Wisp Heather, or Heather Grey. **adds to Christmas list immediately**
I think a Clare V. crossbody bag would be a wonderful gift. Tyler got me mine last year for my birthday, and I love it so, so much. I have the Midi Sac (read my full review here), but the Grand Fanny is next on my list. I feel like the Grand Fanny is just the ultimate “cool mom” purse (Natural Woven Checker or Black Perf are my faves from the current lineup).
In the interest of being thorough, here are few other purses I’ve been eyeing this year: The Small Vittoria Tote from Reformation (Tobacco Leather is my vote), The Claude Bag from Sézane (Chocolate Crocodile, sigh), and the System Tote from Cuyana (classic Black for the working girl).
Nice luggage always makes a splashy gift. Our Away suitcases are going strong after 5 years, so I definitely recommend them. We have one of the Large and two of the Bigger Carry Ons. Away is offering 20% off right now which I don’t believe I’ve ever seen them do!
Lastly, I’m including the Dakota backpack from Dagne Dover which has singlehandedly transformed my travel day situation. This backpack is massive and has SO many compartments, keeping my packing streamlined and long days on the road easy with all of the girls’ stuff. I can’t recommend this enough. I have it in the Dune color, but I love the classic Black and the limited time Microchip too. Also, I have the Large size. You can read my full review here. Dagne Dover is offering 25% off their entire site this week. Insane!
It’s a pre-weekend pick me up: just a little note with links to the latest blog posts, what I’m reading lately, and products I’m obsessed with. Think of it as a friend dropping off a surprise latte in the morning--you know?
