Today I’m sharing my Typology reviews.
After using Typology’s product line for over a year, I decided it was time to put together a thorough review. The thing I love most about Typology’s makeup products is that they are all designed with ingredients that enhance and improve your skin.
In this Typology review, I’ll share some background on Typology and then share all of details about the Typology Tinted Serum, their top seller and my personal favorite from the line. Then, I’ll share the rest of my Typology reviews and get into my thoughts on every other product I’ve tried from the brand.
Fabulous news! Typology gave me an offer to share on this post–eek! If you shop with my link, you’ll receive a *free* bottle of the Organic Orange Blossom Hydrolate with any purchase over $40.
Typology is a direct-to-consumer clean skincare brand based out of France. Typology was founded by Ning Li on the philosophy of simplicity and transparency.
Typology strives to simplify skincare and uses active natural ingredients in their products. Typology is known for their minimalistic, streamlined packaging and ingredient-forward formulas.
The majority of the line is skincare, but they’ve also ventured into the makeup space.
What makes Typology stand apart from other brands, in my opinion, is their commitment to using as few ingredients as possible in their products.
You can check out Typology’s formulation charter on their website which gives a detailed breakdown behind their philosophy as well as what they will and won’t use in their formulas. I found this fascinating.
Typology complies with EU standards which are known to be more rigid than US beauty standards. Typology takes this a step further and has developed their own comprehensive list of ingredients that they avoid in their formulations in addition to those banned by the EU.
The brand boasts impressively short ingredient lists in many of their products. For example, their crown jewel face cream is famously called the “9 Ingredient Moisturizer.” And Typology’s TEN range is a collection designed specifically for sensitive skin, and all of the products under that line have no more than 10 ingredients.
Typology is cruelty-free and vegan.
Typology’s Tinted Serum is a multitasking tinted moisturizer that contains good-for-your-skin ingredients like Vitamin C, Squalane, and Aloe Vera. It does not contain SPF. This is one of Typlogy’s number one bestsellers, and for good reason. You can apply this product easily with your fingers, and it just melts into your skin. It leaves a dewy glow and provides a solid amount of coverage without feeling heavy on the skin. It’s nowhere as thick as a traditional foundation but rather gives you that “glow from within” look. I use this as my everyday coverage over my SPF becuase it’s so easy to apply and go.

I love this moisturizer so much. The fact that it only has nine ingredients makes it even better. This is a thick, hydrating cream that instantly makes my face feel hydrated and supple. The finish reminds me a lot of the Embryolisse Lait Creme Concentrate but without the perfumey smell. You can use this day or night and it also provides a great base for my SPF and makeup.
This is one of the best vitamin c serums I have tried. The formula is specifically created to brighten skin and, most importantly, stay stable over time (this is an issue I’ve seen with a lot of C serums). I love how this serum makes my skin look and will definitely return to this product again and again.
You can think of these bronzing drops as the same idea as Drunk Elephant’s D Bronzi drops, but Typology’s version is a million times better. I mix 3 drops of this with the daily moisturizer for a boost of color, and the results are amazing. The color is gorgeous and rich and I just LOVE these. Pro tip: don’t forget to blend all the way down your neck/chest.
(The bronzing drops comes in a duo with the Tinted Serum now, and they also carry a moisturizer + bronzing drops duo).
Okay, this is such a fun product. This is basically highlight in a bottle, and there are a million ways to use this. You can mix it in your moisturizer or serum OR use it as a highlight on the tops of your cheeks for a dewy glow. I would say that you don’t necessarily need both the bronzing drops that I mentioned above and the glow drops. The glow drops would be perfect for someone who isn’t interested in a bronzed look but rather just wants a simply illuminated glow, does that make sense? The finish is similar but just without the pigment added.
Typology’s lip oil is amazing. It’s super moisturizing and provides just the right amount of subtle color. It’s easy to apply and doesn’t get messy or drippy like some lip oils I’ve tried. I have this in the Powder Pink shade which is a really pretty, subtle nude/pink.
This was the one product that didn’t really wow me, although I have to admit I am extremely picky about concealers. I found it really drying, but I should note that I do have REALLY dry skin. This would work on more “normal” skin I think.
If you’re looking for a brand that prioritizes a simple ingredient list, look no further. Typology’s formulas are to-the-point and clean which I really appreciate. They can be expensive, but I’ve found every product lasts a long time–they are all very much “a little goes a long way” type of consistencies. It also depends on what your goals are with your makeup. These are no products that you’ll reach for if you’re wanting a full “glam” face of makeup, but rather the ones you’ll want when you are on-the-go and looking for an effortless, natural glow. I definitely think Typology is worth it.
If you shop Typology with my link, you’ll receive a *free* bottle of the Organic Orange Blossom Hydrolate with any purchase over $40.
