Today I am sharing my very first Sønderhaus review! I’m talking about the brand’s latest launch: the Pointelle Set.
I recently discovered Sønderhaus after a few cool girls I follow posted about it on Instagram. I ordered the ruffled boxer shorts (swoon) and fell in love immediately.
In today’s post, I am reviewing Sønderhaus’ most recent launch, a Pointelle Set that I am SO excited about.
Sønderhaus is a female-founded brand based out of Utah. Inspired by their Scandinavian heritage and summers on the lake in the Midwest, the brand was founded in 2022 with the mission of creating sustainable, heirloom quality pieces in small batches. Everything the Sønderhaus team designs is slow-made in small batches. I love this.
I absolutely love this two piece set. It’s comfy, breathable, and just so easy to style and wear.
The loungewear area of my wardrobe has always been in a state of utter chaos. This Pointelle Set makes me feel like I could one day be a Woman Whose Life is Together. It’s the type of outfit that you can wear around the house or out and about.
One of the best parts about this set is that both items also look amazing separately and serve important purposes in a spring and summer wardrobe. More on that below.
Something I love about Sønderhaus is that all of their materials are elite. And you can just tell how much thought, love, and care has been put into each design.
Sønderhaus’ Pointelle Set is made of 100% cotton pointelle. I love pointelle because it feels feminine and classic but is still so comfortable. It reminds me of something my Grandma would love to wear.
I have sensitive skin and tend to be really picky about fabric. I love that this is made from 100% cotton. It is soft but not clingy which is right where I love my fabrics to be. The fabric is substantial but airy and breathable at the same time.
The Pointelle Set comes in two colors: Blue and Crema. I have the Blue which is this really icy sky blue. It’s so dreamy. The Crema is a beautiful off-white/cream.
Since this was my first set that I’ve tried from Sønderhaus, I went with a Medium for both the top and the pants.
The Pointelle Top is a bit boxy and oversized, so I could have definitely gone down to a small. You can see in the photos that the sleeves have a generous opening and length. The top is slightly cropped.
The medium is my usual size for bottoms, and the fit is great. One note here: the waistband is a tiny bit snug, so if you think that might bug you, I’d go up. The pants are roomy but not baggy and have a 30.5 inch inseam in every size. The pants are definitely a little short on me but not short enough to bother me.
The pants are technically a mid rise but can be worn low at the hips or high up by the belly button. I prefer high rise as always but could definitely wear these lower if I wanted.
One thing I really appreciate about Sønderhaus is that all of their sets are sold separately. This means that I can tailor the sizing to fit my body type. I wish more brands would do this! I often need a different size on the bottom than I do on the top which can make sets a bit tricky.
Sønderhaus has this totally dialed on their website. Their sets are listed on the same product pages, but you can toggle back and forth between “top” and “bottom” as you are adding the items to your cart. This also allows customers to just buy one part of the set if they so choose.
The Pointelle Top costs $60, and the Pointelle Bottoms cost $65.
The website suggests washing on cold with like colors and hanging to dry. I actually decided to throw my top in the dryer on purpose to shrink it up a bit (after taking these pics), and it worked! So, proceed with care.
The whole point of buying a set like this is to save yourself the headache of putting together an outfit. I think this set looks cute with slippers, Birkenstocks, or my light blue Sambas.
I wanted to show how I styled the pieces separately to show how versatile this set can be! This is such a great set for spring and summer travel. The pieces are lightweight enough to be en extra layer on a cool morning and are easy to style with wardrobe basics that you probably already have in your closet.
Thank you for checking out my Sønderhaus review! I love this Pointelle Set and definitely recommend it if you are looking for an easy breezy lounge set that you can wear all spring and summer.
On that note…
It’s a pre-weekend pick me up: just a little note with links to the latest blog posts, what I’m reading lately, and products I’m obsessed with. Think of it as a friend dropping off a surprise latte in the morning--you know?
