It’s been a while since I did a beauty roundup, so today I’m sharing a handful of recent favorites.
There’s a perfect lip gloss, my new cream bronzer, a very important eye balm, and a couple of products from one of my new favorite brands, Osea.
This was my first lip color purchase in years–why bother with a mask, you know?
I just love this gloss. . It’s a “plumping” formula so it tingles just a teeny tiny bit and makes my lips just look a *bit* more full. I wouldn’t say they blow up per se, but the gloss kind of smooths them out and gives them a youthful boost, if that makes sense.
This gloss isn’t sticky, and I love the beige color–it’s VERY subtle, almost clear, making this the perfect romantic date (or girls’) night gloss. Also, the packaging is just iconic which makes this a perfect little birthday gift for a friend, in my opinion.
I’ve talked about this before, but I have officially switched to all cream makeup products. My face is really dry, and I have found over the years that cream products just lay so much better on my skin. I love a dewy, natural look and powder products, to me, just feel cakey.
I recently ran out of my lifelong favorite cream bronzer from Chanel. When I went to restock it, I realized they changed the formula a few years ago and its reviews are horrible now!! Tragic. So I searched high and low for an adequate replacement and finally landed on the Sun Melt Natural Cream Bronzer from Saie.
I’ve been SO happy with this bronzer. It’s so easy to apply with a beauty blender (I use this dupe), and the finish is ever-so-slightly dewy. True to its name, the formula just kind of melts in and provides a really subtle “sun-kissed” glow. I have it in the “light bronze” color which is almost an exact match to the Chanel color of the same name.
I hardly have the words to describe how important this product is to me. If I was to write an “Early Motherhood Survival Guide,” this eye balm would be near the top of the list.
I use this balm every single day–sometimes multiple times a day–as a pick me up. It works wonders on dark circles, helps tighten the puffies (IYKYK), and adds a very low key glow. It’s an eye balm and illuminator all in one. I can’t recommend this enough.
I recently updated my daily skincare lineup and wanted to share a couple of stars from Osea. I am obsessed with nearly everything I’ve tried from this line, but these two definitely stand out for me.
The first is their new Hyaluronic Sea Serum. This one is a splurge, but as I always say, if you want to invest in your skin, prioritize your serums above all else. Your skin absorbs the molecules of a serum way better than a moisturizer or oil, so you want to focus on serums with really active, hard-hitting ingredients. Get the most bang for your buck, if you will.
Hyaluronic acid helps your skin hold onto moisture, and hydration is everything when it comes to skincare, making it firmer, smoother, and plumper (is that a word?). Well-hydrated skin ages slower–it’s just a fact. This serum isn’t sticky AT ALL and lays really well under moisturizer and SPF.
I’ve been pairing the serum with Osea’s Atmosphere Protection Cream as my daily moisturizer. I like this moisturizer a lot because it’s clean, lightweight, and helps build your skin’s barrier function–very important with our current atmosphere/pollution situation.
This cream absorbs quickly and lays really well under my SPF and makeup. It’s hydrating but not greasy or heavy whatsoever.
If you do want to try anything from Osea, use code RUTH for 10% off at checkout. (BTW, I’m also *obsessed* with their body oil and body butter).
Mascara Review: Thrive vs. Hourglass
It’s a pre-weekend pick me up: just a little note with links to the latest blog posts, what I’m reading lately, and products I’m obsessed with. Think of it as a friend dropping off a surprise latte in the morning--you know?
