Today I’m sharing my Quince review.
Quince has been one of the most exciting discoveries of the past few years for me. I feel like I’m always yammering on about some well-priced, high-quality item from Quince. Over the last few years, we have ordered a TON of stuff from Quince, so I feel uniquely poised to put together a brand review.
In the last few months, I have received so many questions about Quince, all somewhere along the lines of: is Quince legit? And also: what’s the catch?
In today’s Quince review, I thought it would be fun to walk through every single item we have tried from Quince and my honest thoughts on everything. I am covering clothing, fine jewelry, and bedding in this review!
Quince is a direct-to-consumer online retailer that carries clothing, leather goods, fine jewelry, home decor, luggage, bedding, bath, and–somehow–more. The company is based in San Francisco and sources from 50 different manufacturers around the world.
Quince has built a brand on the idea of “affordable luxury” in a multitude of product areas. Quince sources high quality goods from sustainable producers and brings these goods to their customers at affordable price points. Think: cashmere sweaters, silk skirts, linen bedding, and high-end looking leather bags. The pricing is, for the most part, extremely competitive for the quality which is what makes Quince stand out from so many other brands.
As described on their website, Quince partners with factories committed to ethical labor and sustainability practices. All of their products ship directly from their manufacturers to their customers. The packaging is minimal, and Quince works with organic, sustainable materials whenever possible.
One of the core tenants of the brand is producing classic, timeless styles that their customers will wear and use for years, rather than ending up in a landfill at the end of the season.
Overall, I have been VERY impressed with Quince’s quality. Nearly everything I’ve ordered has lived up to the hype, and I still cannot believe some of the prices. Everything has been really well made, and the materials are amazing.
I think my only “complaint,” if pressed, is that I wish they carried more colors in each style. In fact, I wish they actually carried more styles in general, but I suppose this all goes back to their goal of being as sustainable as possible.
I am kicking this list off with my most recent purchase: a lightweight cotton pullover sweater that is *perfect* for foggy mornings. The material of this sweater feels really lux–you’d never guess this sweater costs less than $50.
I bought this to wear with wide leg, flowy pants, shorts, and jeans alike. The fit is oversized and cozy, and it is SO easy to wear.
This is another amazingly priced cotton sweater. This striped pullover is a dead ringer for La Ligne. I LOVE the drapey fit and thick (but not overly heavy) material. The stripes are so chic, and I have found myself reaching for it nonstop. It is slightly cropped compared to the boyfriend style I mentioned above.
This was the number one thing I wanted to try from Quince last fall. This oversized cashmere sweater is nearly identical to Jenni Kayne’s cult-following cardigan, so I was very curious. This sweater is made of Grade A Mongolian Cashmere, and I was blown away by the quality when I first opened this. It feels like a cloud.
I have worn this sweater at least once a week since last October. It is my favorite thing to throw on in the morning with leggings when I’m taking the kids to school or working from home. I’ve worn it with jeans, tied over my shoulders as a make-shift scarf, over a tee, open with a tank, you get the idea. I have it in the Oatmeal color and got a medium. As you might imagine, this style runs big, so I probably could have gone down to a small.
The sweater has pilled a bit over the last few months, but I think that is fairly normal for cashmere as it is so delicate. One thing to note is this item is dry clean only.
After wearing the above boyfriend cardigan so much, I decided to try out the cropped version in the chocolate brown color. This sweater is cut shorter but keeps the same effortless, oversized look as the boyfriend cardigan.
I have worn this with jeans and trousers, usually with a white or striped tank or tee layered underneath. I’ve found this version slightly easier to style when I’m actually “getting dressed” simply because it is less bulky and therefore is easier to layer and feel put together.
Quince’s cashmere crewneck sweater has been an absolute workhorse in my wardrobe this past winter. There are a million and one ways to wear a grey crewneck sweater, and the soft cashmere makes any outfit feel cozy but elevated.
The fit is also oversized: I got this in a medium too but probably could have done a small as well.
I wanted to recreate Favorite Daughter’s chic matching sweater and scarf duo, so I grabbed Quince’s cashmere scarf in Heather Grey to pair with my crewneck sweater.
I love how these look together, and the scarf is so cozy. I have my eye on the larger wrap version for travel too.
I recently got this black cashmere oversized v-neck sweater. This looks exactly like Reformation. I love the oversized fit so much and love how it looks with a skirt, jeans, or over leggings.
(Pictured above!) I got this to wear over the holidays and am in love! It is so comfortable and easy to style. I love how it looks with boots, flats, and even sneakers. I think it runs pretty true to size.
I absolutely love Quince’s washable silk cami. The material is made from 90% mulberry silk and 10% spandex which adds a comfortable stretch to the fabric. This is one item that Quince does carry in a ton of colors, each more beautiful than the last. The straps are adjustable, and the length is generous enough to easily be tucked in.
I have the Forest Green which is stunning. I love how versatile this cami is. I have worn this under blazers for church, my leather jacket for date nights, and under my Quince cashmere sweaters when I’m feeling a little fancy.
This silk skirt is so much fun, and it’s a perfect example of a style that a brand like Reformation would sell for well over $100. Quince nailed this skirt: it’s flirty and sexy but not too short. I got it in black in a Medium and would say it runs pretty true to size.
I got this dress because it looked like an exact dupe for Jenni Kayne. I love the style; however, I don’t reach for it as often as I thought I would. There is no slit, and although the material is silky-soft, there isn’t much give. As silly as this sounds, it’s really hard for me to get in and out of the car in this dress! I have to hike it way up to step into the car which, to me, gets a little annoying.
I was very torn on this linen dress. I loved the gathered seams along the front, a detail that makes this dress seem way more expensive than it is. However, I felt like the bottom of the dress flared out in a sort of weird way that looked a bit off on me. I ended up returning it.
I purchased this dress because it looked like a dead ringer for Jenni Kayne, but I returned this one too. The top was flattering, but the skirt portion was double lined and felt really bulky.
These shorts are great, and you can’t beat the price. I ordered the oatmeal/black stripe color and am keeping them. These are going to save me on warm days this summer and will be easy to pair with a tee or tank top. They run a tiny bit big.
Of all Quince’s product areas, I think their fine jewelry offering is what I am most impressed by and excited about. The collection is simple and timeless, very much targeting the same girls who love Mejuri, Cat Bird, and the like (it’s me).
I ordered these 25mm hoops for myself back in February, as I had been looking for an ultra-lightweight hoop that I could wear every day. I don’t feel these in my ears AT ALL and have been super happy with them. These come in 4 different sizes and are made with solid 14k gold.
When I ordered these, the 25 mm cost $74.99, so it looks like they raised the price in the last few months. I did a little deep dive and compared the price of the Quince hoops to a few brands who carry a similar style of solid gold hoop. Mejuri’s 25mm solid gold thin hoops cost $128. Gorjana’s 22mm solid gold hoops cost $360, and their 30mm size costs $410. Made by Mary only carries one size of their “Live In” hoops in solid gold: 12mm (very tiny), and these cost $98. Even with the price increase, Quince comes through with the most competitive price on a luxury item.
All of my Quince rings are inspired by Mejuri or CatBird, and they are all a fraction of the cost! I will never go back from Quince fine jewelry. The pieces are all so well made and look beautiful together. I cannot recommend their pieces enough.
Tyler got me this diamond baguette necklace for my birthday last year, and it is SO pretty. It’s very subtle and sparkly, and I love how it looks on its own or layered.
I also have my eye on these teardrop earrings (half the price of the same exact ones I saw at Gorjana the other day!), this diamond line signet pinky ring, and the pave diamond U hoops. LOVE!
I recently ordered bedding from Quince for both my own bed as well as my daughters’ new twin beds, and both sets are FABULOUS.
I got the linen duvet set for my husband and my bed in the Mist/White Stripe color. We both love this set so much. It is soft and structured in the way only high-quality linen can be, and it costs less than one-third of the price of Parachute’s linen duvet set ($460) which is insane to me. I have only washed it once and have heard that it gets even softer with each wash. The material feels so luxurious and expensive. 10/10 recommend.
I ordered the linen cotton stitch quilt set for my daughters’ beds a few weeks ago, and they turned out so cute. I wanted something simple to pair with their sheets and throw blankets, and the stitched detailing on these quilts make them feel like heirloom quilts. LOVE.
These slippers are a glorious dupe for the Ugg Tasman slipper–to me, they are nearly indistinguishable. I have been so pleased with these this year and definitely recommend them.
I got these briefs for Tyler’s Christmas stocking because they seemed identical to the Calvin Kleins he wears. He says they are just as soft, but he doesn’t love how thick the waistband is. Thank you, Tyler, for this thorough commentary.
I got each of the girls a set of these dresses a few weeks ago, and they are darling. I like that the material is a little thicker and sturdier than what you’ll find at H&M and Target. The style and material actually reminds me a lot of Alice + Ames but much cheaper.
It’s a pre-weekend pick me up: just a little note with links to the latest blog posts, what I’m reading lately, and products I’m obsessed with. Think of it as a friend dropping off a surprise latte in the morning--you know?
