Today I’m sharing my OSEA Hyaluronic Body Serum review.
If you’ve been following me for any amount of time, you know that I am undyingly devoted to OSEA. (Check out my full brand review here). I love the brand mission, their commitment to sustainability, and their clean but effective formulas.
I use many of OSEA’s face products daily. Just to name a few favorites: I wash my face with the Ocean Cleanser, prep my skin for the day with the Hyaluronic Sea Serum, and replenish my eye area morning and night with their Advanced Repair Eye Cream. All fabulous staples of my routine.
Where OSEA really shines, in my opinion, is in their body care line. Between the cult-following Body Oil, the mystical, magical Anti-Aging Body Balm, and even the Dry Brush…they just get it.
I was SO excited when OSEA announced that they were launching a Hyaluronic Body Serum.
I have been testing this serum for about a month now. In today’s post, I’m sharing some thoughts and info about the product as well as how I pair this with the rest of my body care routine.

I have been maniacal about my skincare routine since my early twenties, but I have always focused on my face. It’s only been in the last couple of years that I have started taking care of my body too. After all, 90% of our skin is from the neck down–kind of crazy since we spend so much money and time just on our faces.
Our bodies need love! The skin on our bodies tends to be more dry because it produces less oil than our face does. And there’s no getting around it: dry skin ages faster than hydrated skin.
Using a serum is the best way to pump your skin with active ingredients, and Osea did not mess around when it came to formulating their first body serum.
OSEA formulated this body serum with 5 molecular weights of hyaluronic acid, and it is clinically proven to boost hydration by 161% (!!!).
The serum is designed to be used alone or paired with your favorite OSEA body moisturizer for maximum results. I approach this the same way I do my face routine: I give my skin a boost of active ingredients and hydration with the serum and then lock it all in with a great moisturizer.
I have been testing OSEA’s Hyaluronic Body Serum for a month and have been so impressed with it. I use this after I shower and have paired it with every single product in OSEA’s body line for good measure. I’ll go over my recommendations at the end of the post.
This serum is lightweight and absorbs beautifully. It makes my skin instantly softer and smoother, and I have noticed that my skin holds onto hydration way longer when I use this serum under my body moisturizer.
I will say that the product is very luxurious all on its own. If I didn’t have dry skin, I could almost get away with wearing it on its own because it is so nourishing.
The serum’s consistency is thin and feels almost like a gel. It absorbs really easily and doesn’t leave any type of tacky or sticky finish.
This serum is made with 5 molecular weights of hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid helps skin hold onto hydration and visibly plumps and smooths. The serum is also made with niacinamide which is a powerhouse active ingredient that helps smooth, tighten, and brighten. The serum contains vegan peptides (these fortify our skin’s barrier function), green algae, blue-green algae, and aloe.
I should note here that the body serum should not be used on your face. The formulation is more potent than what the delicate skin on our face should take on. If you are looking for a major boost of hydration for your face, I wholeheartedly recommend OSEA’s Hyaluronic Sea Serum.
This product is fragrance-free and doesn’t have much of a scent to it at all.
OSEA’s Hyaluronic Body Serum costs $48 for a 4 oz glass bottle.
I use the Hyaluronic Body Serum right after I shower. My tip is to keep the serum in the shower and apply it just after you wrap yourself up in a towel, while your skin is still kind of damp. This allows your skin to fully absorb the product as it locks in hydration.
Then, I apply an OSEA body moisturizer over the serum. Here is a breakdown of OSEA’s body moisturizers and my recommendations based on skin type:
The Undaria Algae Body Oil is one of my favorite products from OSEA. It is easy to apply and gives the skin a gorgeous glow. For an oil, it absorbs easily and doesn’t leave your skin too greasy. Pair this with the Hyaluronic Serum if you have moderately dry skin and want to improve your skin’s elasticity (who doesn’t?).
I love the Collagen Body Lotion, and I swear it makes my skin firmer. I noticed a huge difference once I started using this regularly. This lotion is great if you want to tighten things up, but it’s not necessarily the most moisturizing if you have really dry skin. When I use this, I layer the oil on top since my skin does need extra hydration.
The Anti-Aging Body Balm is, to me, the crème de la crème. If I had to choose one body product from OSEA to use for the rest of my life, it would be this one. It’s intensely hydrating and leaves that same glistening glow that the oil gives. This is probably the greasiest of Osea’s line–this doesn’t bother me in the slightest but it’s worth noting.
I recommend OSEA’s Body Butter to anyone who has really dry skin but does not love a greasy lotion. This body butter is VERY hydrating but does not leave an oily finish like the above balm or body oil. I use the body butter throughout the winter when my skin suffers the most AND on the days after I use self-tanner. Oily products tend to take off self-tanner, so I like to use the body butter to help preserve my tan those first few days (the collagen lotion is great for this use too!).
A few other Osea body products I love:
The dry brush is incredible. I keep this in my sauna as a “habit stack” of sorts and use it all over for lymphatic drainage. I also love the Salt of the Earth Body Scrub. I use this on “everything shower” nights, and it is so luxurious.
Thank you for checking out my OSEA Hyaluronic Body Serum review! I cannot recommend this product enough. Please let me know if you end up trying it and what you think of it.
