Today I’m sharing my Sézane Betty Cardigan review.
The Betty Cardigan is a mainstay of the French brand we all love and has been on my “want” list since last fall.
The Betty cardigan is typically available year round and part of Sézane’s French Heroes lineup. Sézane releases limited edition colors in the Betty Cardigan with each season. When they launched the leopard print version last month, I knew I needed to order it to try on. As soon as it arrived, I knew I was going to keep it. I love the fit, and the leopard print is just *too* fun.
In this Sézane Betty Cardigan review, I am going to share some details about the sweater, my overall review, and, of course, a few outfit ideas.
**If you’re shopping for the holidays, don’t miss Sézane’s Parisian Gift Shop collection. Swoon!
With its clean lines, collar detail, and button-flap pockets, the Betty cardigan is more structured than what I usually gravitate towards in a sweater. It’s unlike anything I have in my closet but still pairs well with my entire wardrobe.
Sézane’s Betty cardigan has a very polished look to it. It pairs amazingly well with trousers or skirts, but I also love that it can be totally dressed down too.
In my opinion, this cardigan’s strength is that it provdes a certain level of “put togetherness” to an otherwise casual outfit. I am someone who values comfort over everything and love that this cardigan can easily elevate my everyday uniform of jeans and a white tee.
I am SO excited to wear this cardigan through the fall and winter this year. I will wear it as a standalone top or as a second layer, either buttoned partially or all the way open. You’ll see how many options there are with this cardigan in my outfit roundup below.
The Sézane Betty Cardigan has a boxy, slightly cropped silhouette. This piece is cut like a vintage lady’s jacket but has the softness and functionality of a cardigan. The Betty cardigan is gently structured and adds the perfect amount of shape and visual interest to an outfit.
I LOVE the big tortoise buttons. The bottom hem and sleeve hems are raw. I like how the sleeve looks cuffed once but will likely wear them long as well.
Sézane’s Betty Cardigan is made of 100% Merino wool in China.
And although some of Sézane’s sweaters can run on the itchy side, I find the Betty cardigan to be soft, smooth, and breathable. The fine-knit material is cozy but not frumpy or lumpy if you know what I mean.
The Sézane Betty cardigan comes in a whopping 20 colors, though many of those are limited in sizing availability. I love the Leopard one SO much, but my next choice would be the Ecru/Navy striped. I also think the black is so chic and would be an extremely useful wardrobe staple. A few of the colors have embroidered trim or color block details. So cute.
Sézane’s Betty cardigan costs $170.
The Sézane Betty cardigan runs relatively true to size. I took a Medium in it which is what I normally wear in Sézane’s knitwear (and most other brands, for that matter).
You can see in the photos that it is slightly cropped and hits just below my waist. The sleeves are definitely long enough which isn’t always the case for me.
You can kind of go either direction with the sizing here. I personally wanted this to be more fitted to wear as a standalone top. However, I could easily have sized up for a more oversized look. If I had gone more oversized, I would have definitely been able to wear it more as a jacket.
Thanks for checking out my Sézane Betty cardigan review! I am so happy with this purchase, and I hope you will be too!
