Today I’m sharing my OSEA body wash review.
OSEA is launching their Undaria Algae Body Wash today, and I am seriously SO excited.
Let’s face it: OSEA invented the Everything Shower (aka: the shave, scrub, wash your hair shower. you know the one).
Between the luxurious Salt of the Earth body scrub and their unbeatable collection of body moisturizers (my favorite remains the Anti-Aging Body Balm), OSEA has cornered the market on luxury body care products.
It was only a matter of time before the team at OSEA brought us a be-all-end-all body wash to complete the lineup: the Undaria Algae Body Wash.

ToggleCall me dramatic, but I think a good body wash has the power to turn your whole day around. I treasure my showers and consider them a chance to reset my nervous system and calm my mind (tell me you’re a mom without telling me you’re a mom, lol). Something about a luxurious shower lineup feels like such a treat to me.
This body wash is one of my favorite OSEA launches to date. And from someone who has tried almost all of their product line, that’s saying a lot.
In this OSEA body wash review, I am going to share some details about the product and my thoughts after using it this month so far.
The summary is this: I am obsessed with this body wash. This body wash is energizing and invigorating and leaves my skin feeling so clean and fresh. Also, I should note that the formula is gentle on my sensitive skin. And the SMELL! The scent is bright and happy and citrusy–it’s an *instant* mood booster.
OSEA is one of my favorite skincare brands out there because of their commitment to clean, sustainable formulas that actually work. Their products are popular for a reason.
The OSEA body wash is made with Undaria seaweed which is one the brand’s hero ingredients. Undaria seaweed is rich in minerals, amino acids, and nutrients and can also be found in OSEA’s cult-following body oil and body butter.
This body wash is also made with a plant-based surfactant blend which helps make a rich foam/lather, glycerin and saccharide isomerate for moisture and hydration, and a nourishing oil blend (coconut oil, avocado oil, and jojoba oil).
The OSEA body wash has been thoughtfully formulated to avoid stripping the skin which I, for one, really appreciate. My skin is so dry, and I love that this body wash cleans without stripping my skin of its natural oils.
The formula is pH balanced and is designed to strengthen and fortify the skin’s natural barrier function. And the oil blend helps soften and hydrate. This product not only cleanses the skin but helps nourish it too.
The scent is, hands down, my favorite part of this product. The scent profile is made of grapefruit, lime and cypress with mango and mandarin notes.
The OSEA Undaria Algae body wash has a bright citrus scent, but–this is important–it is not too sweet. It doesn’t smell like fake candy orange like a lot of other citrus beauty products but rather as if you are standing in the middle of an orange grove. It’s so fresh and energizing.
I’m not sure if they are marketing this body wash as aromatherapy, but they certainly should be. When I talked about body wash turning a day around, this was what I meant.
I would classify the consistency of this body wash as a creamy gel.
A little goes a really long way–you only need just a few pumps to create a really rich lather. The lather is very “sudsy” as opposed to oily or creamy, and the result is that my skin feels clean but not dried out.
OSEA’s Undaria Body Wash costs $32 for an 8 oz bottle.
This is the first of OSEA’s products I’ve tried that did not come in a glass bottle but rather a lighter weight plastic version of their signature cylinder shape and pump. The plastic bottle is made of 50% PCR (post-consumer recycled) plastic.
If you are in the market for a luxurious, gentle, and hydrating body wash, I absolutely recommend this product. This body wash has elevated my Everything Shower, and I could not love the fresh citrus scent anymore than I already do.
This product would make a wonderful gift. I love the idea of pairing it with the collagen body lotion and body oil duo for the ultimate surprise-and-delight moment.
Not that anyone asked, but here is my own Everything Shower lineup.
(Bonus points if I have time to dry brush before I actually hop in the shower!).
I like to kick things off with the product of the moment: the Undaria Algae Body Wash, of course. Once I’m all lathered up (and shaved, lol), I’ll go in with the Salt of the Earth body scrub. This scrub makes my skin feel like a dolphin. It’s divine.
I keep all of my body creams and oils and such in the shower so I can apply them just after patting off with a towel. My favorite combo this summer has been OSEA’s hyaluronic body serum paired with the body oil (sold as a set here). If I’m really feeling ambitious, I’ll apply a facemask right when I turn the water off and let it set while I do my body lotions. Genius, I know.
