Growing up, my mom sent out the most fabulous Christmas cards.
She’d include some photos of our family and then type up a massive letter, dedicating a paragraph to each of us four kids, bragging about our accomplishments and idiosyncrasies. Considering she worked full time and took care of those four kids, I’m still confused as to how she had the time to pull it off. Sometimes she’d send them out as New Year’s cards, but she never missed a year.
I have barely managed to put together even the simplest of cards since we had kids. In fact, it’s been at least two years since I sent one at all!
I took it as a sign when Basic Invite reached out to me about a collaboration. This is my year to make a Christmas Card Comeback, and I’m so excited about it.
Christmas cards may seem a little redundant, as we are all pretty much up to speed on each other’s lives through Instagram, etc. I realized the other day, though, that some things are still special. I love tearing open my friends’ Christmas cards and showing them to the girls. Snail mail is something that will never go out of style. It’s nostalgic, in a way, and more personal than an Instagram post.
Sending Christmas cards is such a fun way to connect with friends and family during the holiday season–especially those who live far away.
Basic Invite has the cutest selection of personalized holiday cards. They make the process unbelievably streamlined and simple which is KEY. It took me just a few minutes to order my samples.
My samples arrived in the mail the other day, and I am obsessed. I can’t wait to send out my Basic Invite Christmas cards.
In today’s post, I’m sharing a guide about how to make fun holiday cards with Basic Invite.
Basic Invite offers a huge selection of holiday cards in every kind of style, vibe, and theme.
The only “hard” part about using Basic Invite is choosing which template to use (follow this link to see their options for christmas cards 2022). They have SO many cute ones.
This took about three seconds. I uploaded some recent photos straight from my phone and was able to start placing them onto the template right away.
One of the best things about Basic Invite is that you can completely customize the colors on your card. They have over 180 colors to choose from! So, if you’re not into a loud cherry red, you can adjust the color to more of an edgy merlot–or whatever your holiday aesthetic leads you to.
You can customize your holiday greeting cards with your own photos and add a foil detail which, of course, is always such a special touch. Basic Invite offers beautiful raised foil in gold, silver, and rose gold.
Basic Invite is one of the only card companies that allows their customers to order a printed sample of the customized card in the mail before you make your final decision. That way, you can make sure your card is 100% perfect before you commit.
Basic Invite offers over 40 different envelope colors to choose from, so you can choose the color that matches best with your card. As a major bonus, their envelopes are all peel and seal–no tongue paper cuts here!
Basic Invite offers an address-capturing service. Customers can share a link on their social media to request their loved ones’ addresses, and then all of the information is automatically stored in your account to be selected during the design process. How easy is that?!
They offer free recipient address printing which is thrilling to someone like me who has the penmanship of an over-caffeinated neurosurgeon.
And for the busiest among us, Basic Invite also offers a mailing service, so they can print, stamp, and mail your cards for you. Select “mailing service” at checkout to utilize this service.
Personally, I don’t think it matters when you send them! I love receiving Christmas cards at any point in the season, and it’s even fun to get a New Year’s Card in the mail.
Basic Invite’s standard shipping takes about 12 days to ship your cards to you. You can always upgrade to Priority or Rush shipping if you want your cards earlier than that.
I am so excited to use Basic Invite to send out our Christmas cards this year.
Basic Invite also does wedding stationary and invitations, save the dates, birth and grad announcements, and website templates. All of it is customizable and SO simple to order.
They offer a few free printables on their website–one of which is a super helpful wedding planner that includes over 100 worksheets to help brides get organized.
My experience with Basic Invite has been SO easy and straightforward. I love how my samples turned out and can’t wait for my cards to arrive in the mail.
This entire month, they are offering 15% off with coupon code: 15FF51.
It’s a pre-weekend pick me up: just a little note with links to the latest blog posts, what I’m reading lately, and products I’m obsessed with. Think of it as a friend dropping off a surprise latte in the morning--you know?
