In today’s post, I am sharing my Hiya vitamins review.
Our family has been testing out Hiya’s line of super vitamins for just over two months now. My daughters (ages 3 and 5) have been taking the multivitamin, the probiotic, and the bedtime essentials every night since mid-November, and so far we have been impressed.
Like most parents, I assume, we are constantly thinking about our girls’ health. We do what we can to serve them a nutrient-dense diet, but, like all kids, they can be picky (especially my youngest). It’s hard to know if they really are getting the nutrients their bodies need.
Research shows that 90% of kids do not eat the recommended daily amount of fruits and vegetables. (Apparently I’m not the only one with picky eaters!). A multivitamin is a great way to fill in any nutritional gaps and support the immune system. I like to think of it as covering my bases.
This is a good time for a quick disclaimer: I am not a doctor or an expert. Obviously, you should talk to your pediatrician about all of this. As always, I’m just sharing our experience and what’s worked for us.
In this review, I’ll start with some info about Hiya–I am so excited about their brand mission and philosophy. Then, I’ll walk through their product line, the ingredients in each product, and our honest thoughts after two months of testing.

**ALSO, Hiya just launched a brand new Greens + Superfood Powder for kids. This powder is full of essential nutrients and was designed to be mixed with milk. It tastes just like chocolate milk, and my kids ask for it everyday.
Hiya was founded by two dads who were sick of trying to find a kids’ multivitamin that wasn’t full of sugar, unnecessary fillers, and artificial dyes. The founders were frustrated by the lack of options for parents trying to help their children fill nutritional gaps without adding even more sugar to their diet.
Many gummy vitamins on the market have as much as 5 grams of added sugar which is as much as an Oreo (!!!). Most of these gummies are also filled with artificial dyes and unnecessary fillers–no thank you. Kids get enough sugar. We don’t need to add to that with something that is supposed to be good for them.
Hiya curated a group of pediatricians, scientists, and nutritionists to develop a chewable multivitamin filled with 16 vitamins and minerals and a blend of 12 fruits and vegetables. Their chewable capsules are made with clean ingredients and without sugar, artificial dyes, or unnecessary fillers. These are both pediatrician and dentist-approved.
Hiya has also added a probiotic and a bedtime essential to their product line.
Every single batch of Hiya products is third-party tested for heavy metals and microbials in a qualified, FDA-compliant lab (practically no other companies do this).
The serving size for each of Hiya’s products is one chewable tablet per day.
These vitamins are suitable for ages 2 through mid-teens, although Hiya recommends an abundance of caution when giving their capsules to children under the age of 3 as they do need to be thoroughly chewed. Many gummy vitamins are not recommended for use under the age of 4, so I love that I could give these to Emmie right away.
Hiya vitamins are sweetened with monk fruit extract and mannitol, two natural sweeteners preferred by doctors and dentists.
Don’t be fooled by the doctor recommendation, though: my kids love the taste and prefer these over the gummies they were taking previously. They NEVER let us miss a night. We usually give them all three chewables at once after dinner.
Hiya runs on a subscription based model. Personally, I love this because I don’t have to remember to order the girls’ vitamins each month.
In your first order, Hiya will send you these cute reusable glass bottles (LOVE) and a set of stickers–the ultimate hype builder. My kids, of course, were all over this and went to town decorating their bottles. Each month after that, you’ll receive refill packets that are optimized for freshness in the mail.
Hiya Kids Daily Multivitamin is a chewable formulated to help support kids’ immune systems, growth, and development.
The multivitamin is, to me, an absolute essential. It fills the gaps in my kids’ diets and seems to have helped support their immune systems during these winter months.
It’s always kind of hard to tell with kids, but I have noticed that the girls have been, in general, less sick this winter than they were last year. They still bring home the occasional cold from preschool, but it seems like they’ve been moving through the sicknesses much quicker and with a lot less drama. I’m probably jinxing myself as I type this, but it certainly seems like this year has been a LOT easier, and I can’t overlook the fact that they’ve been on a new vitamin regimen.
And for the ingredient nerds out there (it’s me), here’s a little breakdown of each of the nutrients included, the form that it comes in, and why they are important.
Supports a healthy immune system, eyes, and cells.
Supports the immune system.
Supports the immune system and bone development.
Supports eyesight, heart health, and the immune system.
Supports concentration, mood, and sleep.
Supports eyesight, energy, and cell growth.
Supports energy and cell growth. (Note: most gummies use synthetic folic acid instead of natural folate).
Supports sleep.
Supports cellular growth and healthy skin.
Supports energy, sleep, and focus.
Supports bones and development.
Supports thyroid function.
Supports healing and immune functions.
Supports sleep, mood, and inflammation.
Supports metabolism and inflammation.
Supports blood clotting and bone health.
The blend includes organic apple, organic beet, organic broccoli, organic carrot, organic green cabbage, organic kale, organic parsley, organic spinach, organic blueberry, organic raspberry, organic strawberry, and organic tomato.
Additional ingredients include a sweetener blend (mannitol, monk fruit extract), plant cellulose blend (hydroxypropyl, microcrystalline), coconut oil powder, vegetable magnesium stearate and stearic acid, natural flavors and color (beetroot, turmeric, spirulina), malic acid, and organic rice extracts.
Hiya’s Daily Probiotic was formulated to help support digestion and bowel movements, gut health, and kids’ immune systems.
Since both of my girls have been on antibiotics a handful of times for ear infections over the years, I give them probiotics on a daily basis. Antibiotics, as we all know, take a major toll on the gut microbiome, so I want to support their gut health in any way I can.
Gut health is way more important than I even realized-it’s connected to almost every area of our well-being. Taking a daily probiotic is a great way to support overall health. I have noticed a marked improvement in Emmie’s skin which typically takes a turn for the worse in the winter.
These probiotics do not require refrigeration. I love this because we can travel with them, and travel is usually the time we need the most gut support.
This is made with a blend of 10 billion CFU (live cultures): Lactobacillus rhamnosus (GG), Lactobacillus paracasei (UALpc-04™), and Bacillus lactis (Bl-04®). This product also contains prebiotic Larch Tree Fiber to support digestion.
The Hiya Bedtime Essentials supplement is a non-habit forming, melatonin-free chewable formulated to help kids wind down at bedtime. The formula also supports brain health, focus, and mood.
I wouldn’t say I’ve seen a huge difference in my girls’ sleep since they started with Hiya. To be fair, though, they are usually really good sleepers, so I knew it would be hard to tell. Neither of my girls nap anymore, so bedtime has been kind of easy for us anyway the last few months. They do still each wake up 1-2 times in the middle of the night to use the bathroom, but I would be concerned if a vitamin suddenly made them sleep through that, right? I do like the ingredients in the Bedtime Essentials, though: most people are magnesium deficient, and I myself take that and l-theanine at night for sleep support.
Hiya Bedtime Essentials contain a blend of Vitamin B6 (3 mg), Choline (15 mg), Calcium (20 mg), Magnesium from fresh seawater sources (5 mg), L-theanine (50 mg), GABA (Gamma-aminobutyric acid) (5mg), Chamomile flower extract (5 mg).
This formula was designed to complement their daily multivitamin and provide extra support around bedtime. I should note that the formula is non-drowsy!
Overall, we have been so impressed with Hiya. I love the thoughtful ingredient lists, and my kids love the taste. And that, my friends, is what we call a “win, win.”
Choosing a vitamin for your children can feel overwhelming–even frustrating–at times, but I have been SO pleased by our experience with Hiya. Hiya’s vitamins are intentionally formulated to support healthy, happy, and strong kiddos without any of the added BS you so often see in other vitamins on the market.
One thing I’ve learned since becoming a parent is that we don’t have nearly the amount of control that I once pictured having. I’ve done everything I possibly can to expand the girls’ palates, but at the end of the day, Emmie still can’t get a carrot down and Char turns her nose up at berries of any kind. It makes me feel so much better that they are taking a clean, super-charged vitamin each day to fill in the gaps.
If you’re a parent wondering where to start, my recommendation is to start with the daily multivitamin and then add in the probiotic if you’re concerned about gut health. If you’re really wanting to go crazy, grab the Bedtime Essentials for extra sleep and brain support.
