Don’t mind me–just another SoCal girl pretending that it’s not 80 degrees out.
If liking fall is basic, then consider me Basic with a capital B. Why can’t we just like what we like??
I’m very excited for the change in season, even if the weather isn’t cooperating with my dreams of a cozy cloudy afternoon. It’ll cool down eventually, and when it does, my wardrobe and I will be READY.
Today I’m sharing some fall wardrobe inspo. A few of these things I already own and love, a few are currently en route to my front porch, and a few are on my wish list.
Steve Madden Booties: It’s going to be tough to convince myself I don’t need these chelsea boots. I love, love, love the ribbed inset detail and chunky heel.
Madewell Wrap Thong Bodysuit: I think I found the next addition to my Madewell bodysuit collection. I love the cut of this one. Obviously you can’t go wrong with black, but I feel like the grey is calling my name for this season.
Madewell Perfect Vintage Jeans in Ainsworth: I love these jeans SO much. I wanted to love the Agolde Riley jean that everyone has but felt like the waist was too big and the thighs were too tight (always an issue for me). These jeans from Madewell remind me a lot of the Agolde’s but have a lot more give in the thighs and are higher-waisted/more tapered so they don’t sag–does this make sense? Oh, also! Madewell is doing an awesome sale this weekend (denim is included in the sale which is rare)–20% off for insiders.
Aerie Ribbed Sweater: If I’m too old to shop at Aerie, please don’t tell me, because I swear by this brand. (See more of my faves here). I have a couple of their sweaters from last year and wore them day in and day out. I’m so excited about this ribbed sweater–so cute with leggings or jeans.
Gorjana Huggie Earrings: If I don’t pull the trigger on these stunning huggie earrings this fall, you can bet they will be on my very specific and very detailed “stocking stuffer inspo” list that I’ll start sending to Tyler in early November.
Mango Cardigan Coat: I’ve been on the hunt for a camel coat/long sweater for years, and I think I’ve finally found it! I would buy anything that Megan and Brooke from Somewhere Lately recommend. They both have the BEST style (laid back but polished, lots of neutrals, kind of sporty?). Anyway, Brooke posted about this “coatigan” from Mango last week and talked about how she has worn hers relentlessly for years. She posted a bunch of different outfits that she’s worn with it (layered over leggings, a hoodie, and sneakers, with jeans and booties, etc), and that sealed the deal for me.
Aerie Chenille Sweater: Another affordable Aerie sweater. Call me over-eager, but I feel like this would be so cute on Christmas Day with my Spanx faux leather leggings.
Abercrombie Midi Dress: I bought this dress a couple of months ago and love it so much. It’s comfortable, flattering, and is a great transition piece. I like it with sandals and a denim jacket OR booties and a leather jacket. I have the black floral but also love the green check.
Free People Cardigan: I tried this cardigan on the other day, and it is nearly perfect. It’s soft, not itchy at all, and very lightweight–ideal for autumn in San Diego. It’s the type of sweater I’ll wear with every type of outfit for the next six months straight, I’m sure. (I tend to wear things into the ground once I become attached to them).
It’s a pre-weekend pick me up: just a little note with links to the latest blog posts, what I’m reading lately, and products I’m obsessed with. Think of it as a friend dropping off a surprise latte in the morning--you know?
